Medical Technology & Healthcare

Ellie Vilendrer has extensive experience serving healthcare and medical technology companies ranging from start-up to publicly traded, in roles including outside general counsel, intellectual property counsel, and privacy counsel. In these roles she has provided counsel and representation on HIPAA compliance and other privacy matters, intellectual property protection and software licensing, and business litigation. She has served healthcare companies in the spaces of Genomics AI, mental health technology, medical device testing, and medical equipment including surgical, imaging and radiology, emergency care, and rehabilitation.

Ms. Vilendrer has provided analyses regarding the application of HIPAA to healthcare companies and drafted HIPAA privacy and security policies and business associate agreements. She has written comprehensive General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)-compliant privacy policies for healthcare companies. She has also advised on breach notification requirements, including requirements under state law and notification to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
